Job Description

Function

Responsible for managing the individualized patient care by promoting physical or psychological wellbeing of patients and restoring their health through application of nursing process.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performing physical examination and history taking.
  • Assessing the patients who arrive in the sick bay and arrange doctor’s appointment or, if appropriate, administer over the counter medication if required.
  • Deciding on the right course of action for patients.
  • Responding to medical/health problems presented by patients including history taking, diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referral as appropriate.
  • Promoting health and well-being through the use of health promotion and health education to students and staff.
  • Organizing preventative medical programs for individual patients in coordination with the Doctor.
  • Maintaining patients’ records using ERP System.
  • Participate in vaccination program in coordination with other health sectors.
  • Keeping account of Medicine stock and reordering as required within a budget.
  • Any other related duties assigned by the Line Manager.

 

Qualification, Experiences and Skills

Qualification:-

  • Graduate of an accredited Bachelor program in nursing.
  • MOH Registration.
  • Passed IV therapy courses will be an added advantage

Experience :-

  • Practicing nurse who has not been away from nursing for more than one year.
  • 3+ years of Nursing experience in a reputed Hospital/Clinic in an Accident and Emergency department.

Knowledge & Skills:-

  • Skilled in doing physical examination and history taking Ability to administer prescribed medication
  • Ability to insert Intravenous canula and administer intravenous fluids.
  • Up to date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues.
  • Ability to communicate in Arabic and English.
  • Skillful in MS Office applications.
