Overview:Advanced Acoustic Concepts, LLC, a subsidiary of Thales Defense & Security, is a technical leader in the fields of 1) sonar systems, 2) sonar signal processing, 3) acoustic training systems, and 4) open architecture system & software integration for the United States defense industry. AAC has several Full Time and Internship opportunities. Positions include:

  • Aerospace Engineer/Computational Fluid Dynamics & Analysis
  • Mechanical Engineers / MATLAB Programming, CAD Design and Analysis
  • Electrical Engineers / MATLAB Programming, ECAD Design and Analysis
  • Acoustical Engineers / MATLAB Programming, Underwater Acoustical Modeling and Analysis

Our positions will be based at our corporate office in Hauppauge, NY or our facility locations including, but not limited to:

Lemont Furnace, PA,
Washington, DC
Columbia, MD

Responsibilities:

Candidates in this role will collaborate with the AAC Lead Mechanical Engineer, Engineering & Development Managers, Program Managers, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and Systems Engineers.

Qualifications:Qualifications & Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Employment eligibility to work in the US required; visa/employment sponsorships will not be available

Additional Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Computer Skills will preferably include several the following applications
    • Ansys Workbench, Ansys CFX, Femap, NX Nastran, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, MATLAB
  • Performed analysis using tools such as Autodesk or ANSYS Multi-Physics
  • Good interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to document a design and provide status reports
  • Ability to generate documentation including status reports, peer briefing material, and reports to an advisor.
  • Ability to develop and review CAD and/or ECAD models and drawings
  • Ability to technically support engineering design and development tasks.

 


Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting up to 20 lbs. up to 25% of time
  • Walking up to 25% of time
  • Climbing, Bending, Standing, Stooping up to 10% of time
  • Sitting up to 75% of time
  • Must be willing to travel up to 15% of time to locations in the continental United States

AAC works on a 9/80 compressed schedule, with employees working 80 hours in 2 weeks and every other Friday off.
