Job Description

KPS is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to fill a role on our design team. The purpose of this role is to facilitate the release of job layouts, prints, and BOM’s to the floor for build. To assist in the development of new system machines for our current and future customers.

Qualifications

Engineering

● B.S. in Mechanical Engineering

● 3 to 5 years design experience in an automation environment

● Experience with SolidWorks, Product Data Management, & AutoCAD

● Able to implement common mechanical engineering practices, standards, mechanisms, and purchased components

● Ability to perform FEAs and engineering calculations

● Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes

● Understanding of machine ergonomics, serviceability, and maintenance

● Strong mechanical aptitude

● Strong interpersonal skills

● Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

● Ability to own projects and complete assignments

● Detail oriented

● Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Responsibilities

● Designs mechanical systems and components for customized equipment, ensuring specifications and requirements are met and delivered on time, within budget

● Generate accurate Bills of Materials, and Detail Prints

● Work in a collaborative environment with Project Managers, Build Manager, Manufacturing Manager, and Controls Manager

● Interact with vendors to determine proper and cost-effective purchased items

● Participate in internal and customer design reviews with ability to effectively translate meeting minutes into final/approved designs

● Work with fabricators and builders to monitor assembly progress and update designs/details to “as built” when required

● Provide written and verbal work direction to team members

● Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
